    Hello,

well, apparently, I can't complete my study without you help. Thanks for your attention.

This time 3 JG 2 claims are problematic for me (of course, they often overclaimed, but they had at least a combat on those occasions).

    Oblt. Julius Meimberg 3./JG 2 Spitfire 30 km N.W. Dieppe: 4 500m 10h27 15th "victory".
    A PRU?
Probably during the same combat, one loss : Oblt. Horst Steinhardt.

One hour later (+/- 11h40) the Ramrod 33 with heavy losses dued to JG 26

90 minutes later, again a combat against the "Richthofen" with 2 claims:
    Ofw. Josef Wurmheller 1./JG 2 Spitfire – 14h02 33th "victory"
    Oblt. Rudolf Pflanz 1./JG 2 Spitfire – 14h03 37th "victory"

    Could they have maybe encountered
a Spitfire Vb BM-260 of US 133Sqn (later 4FG 336FS) and if yes, at what time?

    A difficult question, for sure...

    Best regards
    Erik

I think I could have found a possible solution:

Meimberg and Steinhgard could have encountered the 133 Sq.

And the 1./JG 2 has maybe fighted with the 121 Sq.

    Regards

    Erik

    Default 1 PRU 17May42

    Hi Erik,

1 PRU did fly a sortie to Dieppe area on the 17May42 but you can probably discount it and being relevent to your enquiry.

F/O Singlehurst took photos of Dieppe and Boulogne. Take off: 11:45; Land: 13:30
    No mention of enemy contact.

    Best Regards

    Hi Erik

I apologize for taking the most of your message to ask you this, but may you forward to Julius Meimberg, if you’re still in touch with him, some questions about 24 July 1941. I had been given his e-mail address, sent a message in english, but never had any reply. A great friend of mine, who died last year, was in one of the Hampden shot down that day (AE225, 44 Sqn).
If you’re ok, please drop a message to gildas4044 at free.fr, and I’ll later forward to you a message.
    Thanks in advance
    With kind regards
    Gildas
