Default Help with two Lancaster Pilots

    Hi,

Two pilots arrived on 218 Squadron in July 1945 participting in Operation 'Dodge' on July 24th 1945. I am trying to establish details on the following ; F/Lt A.H Howell DFC and his navigator F/O A.W Braine DFC and F/Lt B.A Rowe-Evans, pilot. Any help or pointers most welcome.

    Kind regards

    Hello Steve,

Perhaps 177001 P/O Anthony William Woodhouse BRAINE. DFC awarded while on No. 149 Sqn.

54096 F/O Bruce Alastair ROWE-EVANS, DFC (awarded on No. 115 Sqn.)

The only Howell I can find with a No. 218 Sqn connection is 155929 P/O David Logan HOWELL, DFC (gazetted 15 February 1944)

    Steve,

    I suspect your "F/Lt A.H.Howell DFC, is:

159469 A/F/L Aubrey Henry HOWELL DFC RAFVR.

    DFC - 115 Sqn. LG: 21/4/1944.
