Default BCATP Group Photos 1 AOS or 1 BGS or 2 ANS Winter 41/42

    Hello all

I was sent this photo of a group of trainee airman, forage caps have the little stripes on them.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qp6to5yYmSwX79Zd9
    (Hope that link is viewable)

The surnames written on it are

BACK ROW: COFFERI, ANDERSON, SMITH, SEIGEL, PRIME (RAAF), TEDKIRK, MOORE (RAAF), LOTT, CLIFFORD, DUNN

FRONT ROW: T BAILLIE, A G ROWE, KING, GROVER, ELMER BELL, FEE, HILL

Now, the Grover man is John Carleton GROVER, 427/429, 432 SQn in 1943, was sent by his family.

i should be able to id the RAAF man named Prime, but just short of time to spend on this. So, I'll throw it to the board.

J C Grover was at the following training establishments over the winter of 1941/42

To No,1 ITS, Toronto, 15 July 1941. Graduated and promoted LAC, 18 September 1941; to No.1 AOS that date. To No.1 BGS, 3 January 1942. Graduated and promoted Sergeant, 14 February 1942; posted that date to No,2 ANS. To No.31 OTU, 12 March 1942.

I looked at the ORB for 1 AOS and 1 BGS, no names mentioned.

The two australians, based on the below would be

    PRIME, LESLIE ARTHUR JOB 402902
MOORE, JOHN WILLIAM 403943 (his A9300 service file is available on ANA.)

    both survived the war

    Hello,

Re: AUS403943 John William MOORE RAAF.

    http://www.yorkshire-aircraft.co.uk/...k42/z8980.html & BCL7/136.

Christian Larsen, a member of this forum (he hasn't posted for ages), had a website that covered all members of No.2 Air Navigation School, Pennfield Ridge. I can't access it with the link I have, all I get is "Forbidden".

    Col:

    I am still around.

The website containing all of my information on the former Pennfield Ridge Air Station (1941-1945) was hosted by Ancestry.com. They took all of their free webpages offline earlier this year. Still looking at other options for another website.

    Regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,

Good to see you're still at it. Be a shame to let all that work lay fallow. Keep us informed on your plans.
