    Default Late Arrivals Club

    Hello,

    Is there a Late Arrivals Club names list ?

    Reason for question is that although I have heard of these "returning airmen" I have never heard that their names have ever been reported in a list ?

    Or have I missed it ?

    Sorry to say there is no known listing for this club, certificates are highly prized especially if signed as that is the only true provenance. See the book 'Goldfish Caterpillars and Guinea Pigs' which will explain more detail.

    Hello,

    For those wishing to know a little more on the founding of the "Late Arrivals Club", I can recommend the following publication:

    They Flew Through Sand: The Notes and Sketches of a R.A.F. Officer in the Western Desert.
    S/L Houghton,George W.*
    Cairo:R.Schindler,1942
    pp.131-46

    * 79841 S/L (A&SD) George William HOUGHTON RAFVR (later A/G/C OBE([M])

    Post-war, Houghton wrote over 20 humorous books on golf which were illustrated with his cartoons. He passed away in 1993.

    Who knows? You might even find "Trevor"** there!
