Default No.20 M.U. and No.2 Ferry Pool Ashton Down, 1945/46.

May I ask if anyone here has copied the record books of either No.20 Maintenance Unit, No.2 Ferry Pool, or the station records for Ashton Down, through 1945 to June 1946?
Also if there are any transcripts of personal logbooks related to the above units or Ashton Down during the same period.
I am looking specifically hoping for any Fairchild Argus assigned to, recorded at, or visiting Ashton Down between January 1945 and June 1946.
Thank you in anticipation, Tony Broadhurst

    Hello,

20 Maintenenance Unit shared the 9X code with 1689 Flight (disbanded 7.5.45)*, which was known to operate Fairchild Argus II HB600.

    * Reformed 6.3.46 ex No.41 Group Training Flight as No1689 (Ferry Training) Flight within No.20 MU at Aston Down to train No.41 Group Ferry pilots.

    See:FT&SU since 1912/Sturtivant & Hamlin/A-B (2007)/pp.111 (2 FP), 129 (1689 Flt) & 176 (20 MU).

    A-B's RAF Aircraft HA100 - HZ999 (p.8), has the following for Argus HB600 - ATA Returned to US 10.4.47.

    Thank you Col,
I had missed No.1689 (Ferry Training Flight) and its period at Ashton Down completely. A great help.

    Thank you again, Col,
The restoration of HB600 has moved on since the last report I had of it was a possible sale to New Zealand.
