    Hello All,
FMP has Lambert Linhart, Death date 23 Nov 1946, German Air Force, Stafford Cemetery, War Graves Plot, Sect G New Portion Grave 27. (Taken from CWGC).

And is this (from FREEBMD) connected?:-
    Deaths Jun 1945 Linhart, Laubrent, 20, Stafford, 6b 23

Incidentally, I have tried to find if any of the WW2 German PoWs and/or Casualties were "Wetterfrosch" (the Luftwaffe equivalent of our Met Air Observers), but none of the folk I've emailed in Germany seem to respond. Any ideas?

    Peter,

The German equivalent of the RAF's Met Air Observer was Regierungsrat, abbreviated to Reg Rat. The word means 'counciller'. If my memory serves correctly they were civilian meteorologists, provided with a uniform but with no military authority or rank. Although making up a crew, they were often not considered to be part of the crew - if that makes sense. I'm writing from memory, but I'm sure somewhere or other I have an article with a proper definition.

Edit. It may be the name is recorded as Reg Rat Dr XXXXX

    Hello,
    From the CWGC -
They usually give surname first followed by christian name as far as I have found.
    For example -
    https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/c...homas-william/

    Therefore -

    https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/c...hart,-lambert/
