    Default RAF Squadron 205, Singapore

    Hi there,

I am currently trying to write a book about my Great Grandfather.

His name was name was Flight Sergeant William Cuthbert and he was a RAF Photographer.

He was stationed in Singapore and I believe he was a member of the 205 Squadron.

    His number was 507330.

I also have the numbers and names of others in his squadron.

According to his diary, I know that he went from Singapore to Java, then onto India, and finally he managed to make it to Durban. However, at one point he had to escape through the jungle along with his men, I am unsure when this was though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Seb

    Hi Seb,

I would strongly recommend you to contact the RAF and to get his RAF Service Record before you will start writing your book.
You as a family member should have no problem to get them.

    Follow the official instruction here:

    https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military...-elses-records

If you will succeed and you will have any additional questions deciphering the record please feel free to post them directly in sticky thread:
