Hi Alex
According to Errol's 'For your tomorrow' the 524 crew were in MF577 'X' on the night of 2/3 Oct, hence the difference in dates
There were seven on board the other being SHUTT, STANLEY CLIFFORD (425000) age: 32 RNZAF

Hello,
Seeking details of serial numbers and reason of loss for the following two aircraft.
108 Sqn Beaufighter recorded as a/c "C", date of loss 1st October 1944.
Crew were -
HARWOOD, Leonard Harold - F/Sgt - 1392248 - RAFVR.
KNIGHT, Ronald Tyrwhit - W/O - 545451 - RAF.
Suggested serial range is "ND???".
An earlier "C" was V8651 in 1943 and a later possibly MM939 ex 46 Sqn.
The second loss was an 524 Sqn Wellington XIII on the 2nd October 1944.
Crew were -
CHESTERS, John Christopher - F/Lt - 49832 - RAF - DFM.
BROWN, Alexander Ronald - F/Lt - 77784 - RAFVR.
LEVICK, Alfred Walter - F/Sgt - 1585278 - RAFVR.
JONES, John Robert - F/Sgt - 1432988 - RAFVR.
KEENAN, Hugh Joseph - P/O - 187348 - RAFVR.
KILPATRICK, James - F/Sgt - 1383406 - RAFVR.
A/c serial number so far not known ?
There are two a/c of interest, MF577 date of loss given as 03/10/44 and MF319 date of loss given as 04/10/44. Could one of these have been given an incorrect date ?

Hello Malcolm,
Thank you for the detail on the 524 Sqn Wellington, and the other man.
It all helps in regard to my search for the three airmen as noted in my earlier thread.
Thanks
Alex
