    Default Spitfire Serial No. BL325

Can anybody help with info re a crash involving Spitfire BL325 from 504 Squadron based at Kirkistown, Northern Ireland, on 25 May 1942? Apparently it 'clipped' a tree and either crashed or crash landed in the vicinity of Portadown or Tandragee and was written off. Who was the pilot? Did he survive the crash?

    As always, thanks, in anticipation.

    Wee Gerry

I have the pilot as Sgt FARRELL as as there is no casualty for him on this date, I assume he survived the incident

The information at www.spitfires.ukf.net says it was CAT B after this incident and the sent to Shorts but declared CAT E a few days later

    Paul,

Many thanks. I'm hoping someone might turn up a first name, in due course!

    Regards,

    Gerry
