Default 106 Squadron crew details wanted

    Good Morning
I am seeking any information about the members of the following crew that flew at least 37 operations with No. 106 Squadron during the period May - September 1944. To avoid duplication I have included the known details. I also have newspaper pictures of Arthur Kitto. Anything further about any of them will be appreciated.

Pilot: F/O Arthur Ralph Kitto DFC NZ42415 RNZAF son of Archibald Dixon Kitto and Hazel Annie Kitto nee Ross of Wanganui, Wellington New Zealand. DFC Gazetted 17 November 1944.
His brother LAC Ross Francis Kitto was killed whilst training in Canada at No. 12 Service Flying Training School in 1942. Both were prominent New Zealand golfers.

F/Eng: Sgt. Albert G. Kiddle thought to have been born in 1924 at Brentford the son of Alfred F. Kiddle and Annie E. Kiddle nee Wafer. He had siblings Ronald F. Kiddle born 1926 and Irene E. Kiddle born 1927,

    Nav: Sgt H.A. Brightwell
Air Bmr: F/Sgt J.C. Porteous NZ
    W/Op: Sgt N Whitaker
Air Gnr (M/U): Sgt G.W. Birchall
Air Gnr (Rear): Sgt R.F. Pollard

    Kind Regards

    Roy,

To the best of my knowledge, J C Porteous was not a New Zealander. Are the initials correct?

    Hi all,

    according to the ORB:
    J. C. Porteous has not nationality (NZ) stated

Sgt G.W. Birchall has nationality as (Can) = Canadian

    Hi Errol and Pavel
The crew details are as sent to me by a third party who had purportedly taken them from the ORB. I will now make further enquiries based on your suggestions.
Many thanks for your prompt replies.

Roy I have checked just two cases in September 1944, it might be a problem of the ORB that for example (NZ) or (CAN) is not stated all the time but just occasionally.
