Default Johnnie Johnson Spitfire at Eindhoven

    G'day Chaps

Here is a photo purported to be Johnnie Johnson's Spitfire at Eindhoven during the battle at Arnhem. The battle raged on from the 17th to 15th of September, 1944. Eindhoven was liberated on the 19th of September. I have honestly never seen his personal markings like the ones on this aircraft. Your thoughts? Cheers...Chris

P.S. Sorry but you will have to scroll down a bit to get to the photo:https://www.facebook.com/groups/467558623599713/

    Hello Dakota,

Not everyone has/needs Facebook! JEJ's Spitfire at Eindhoven (1944-45), was discussed at some length here:

PS. I can't access your photo, so can't be sure if it is the same Spitfire. Are you referring to Spifire IX MK392? If so, see: 2nd TAF/Shores & Thomas/Classic,2008/Volume Four/pp.649-50.

The source for the photos in 2TAF was Robert Bracken (of Spitfire I & II The Canadians, fame).
