There are varying accounts relating to the loss of Wellington JA453 (23/08/1944) on the internet and I wondered if anyone has any source documents which confirm the accuracy (or possible inaccuracy) of the following details:

"The aircraft departed Peplow at 20.36 for a night cross country exercise and was heading for Aberporth Airport. During the flight the starboard engine failed and the aircraft crash-landed at Cenarth, West Wales at 23.30".

There is also a suggestion that it crashed into the River Teifi

Any help would be much appreciated

Regards

Pete
