Default RAF Claims vs Luftwaffe Losses Pargeter DFC and Fell DFC 29 Squadron

    Dear All,

I am trying to tie down a number of victories claimed by a Mosquito pilot, and I was keen to try and confirm the actual identity of the Luftwaffe aircraft/crew.

The successful crew in question were Reginald Clive Pargeter and Robert Lonsdale Fell of 29 Squadron.

The information on claims I have are:

    1943 Oct 20/21 - Me210 (Probable) - Mosquito XII (163) near Dungeness

    1943 Nov 20/21 - Fw190 (Destroyed) - Mosquito XIII (HK403) near Horsham

    1944 Feb 24/25 - Ju88 (Destroyed), Ju88 (Damaged), 10-20 miles NE Brighton, Me410/Ju88 (Destroyed), N West Malling, in Mosquito XIII (HK422)

    1944 June 9/10 - Ju88 (Destroyed) - Mosquito XIII (MK403), 8 miles S beach-head

    1944 August 4/5 - Ju188 (Destroyed), Mosquito XIII (MK403), Orly airfield.

Any help on the identity and crew of the German aircraft would be great.

    Johnnie

    Hi Johnnie

    LCA Vol 11:

    1944 Feb 24/25 - Ju88 (Destroyed)
    - Sorry, you don't have any more details so I can't add anything much, although LCA does say one of the 6 missing Ju88s/188s (3 of each type, along with two Dornier 217s and a Heinkel 177) from this night was shot down by a 29 Sqn night fighter (maybe your guys?), 40 km N of Fecamp, France:

    24-25/2/1944
    Ju88S-1
    Wn.300623
    Z6+MH
    1/KG66
    3 crew lost w/o trace:
    Pilot: Uffz Jurgen Schroiff +
    Bo: Uffz Werner Wiede +
    Bf: Uffz Herbert Hoeckendorf +

Ju88 (Damaged), 10-20 miles NE Brighton
    - Not shot down so no LCA entry

Me410/Ju88 (Destroyed), N West Malling, in Mosquito XIII (HK422)

    24-25/2/1944
    Ju188E-1
    Wn.260321

    3 killed:

    Bo: Ogfr Bruno Schievelbein +
    Bf: Uffz Michael Hofmockel (PoW)

    Hi Johnnie

    Final ones:

    1944 June 9/10 - Ju88 (Destroyed) - Mosquito XIII (MK403), 8 miles S beach-head
    - No entries in LCA Vol 12 for these dates as not in the UK.

    1944 August 4/5 - Ju188 (Destroyed), Mosquito XIII (MK403), Orly airfield.
    - Again, not in the UK so can't help with this one either, I'm afraid.

But I hope the earlier ones may be of assistance

    Regards

    Ian

    Hello,

MK403 was a Spitfire IX. Possibly HK403, as for other claims.
