Default Unknown Polish escapee France, summer 1944

    Hello/Bonjour,

I am searching information about an escapee, a Polish airman whose name was (unsure of the spelling) Julian Lsyowski (?), service-number 0899305 (?). Found this name (simply a line) while reading a document about P/O Harry Taylor from No.101 Squadron, service-number 172574 who was helped by French people after his bomber was hit during the night of 30 June to 1 July 1944 over Vierzon, France. No other details were given.

    Best regards,
    Frederic

    Hi Frederic,

I am afraid your information is so incorrect to be able to establish the right person.

The Poles had follwoing ranges of Service numbers:

    NCOs:
    703000 709999
    729000 733999
    780000 784999
    792001 795000

    Officers: P-xxxx

You can try your own luck at the great source of Polish airmen - Lista Krzystka:

    results for "Julian":

Pavel and Col, thanks a lot for your responses.

It can only be Julian Lagowski, I know he was hid in the area and I will continue in that direction to confirm this. The service-number was so badly written and what can be said about the family name!! Once again, merci beaucoup.

    Best regards,
    Frederic
