Default Identity of Skua Missing off Wales, 29 January 1943

Could anyone identify a Skua missing in or around Wales on 29 January 1943, please?

The 41 Squadron ORB records that, at 12:42 on this date, a search was commenced for a missing Skua, but that nothing was seen. This is the grand total of information I have available to me on the incident. As no area of search is mentioned, I should add that 41 Squadron was based at Llanbedr, Wales, at the time.

Does anyone have a loss matching this date and extremely broad area, please?

    Thanks
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

No Skua identity yet but again from the RNLI Records of Service 1939 - 46

    JANUARY 29TH. - BARMOUTH, MERIONETHSHIRE.
Red flares had been seen, which it was thought might be from an aeroplane’s dinghy, but nothing could be found. - Rewards, £15 1s. 6d.

    Regards
    Ross
