Hi guys
It seems like Air Commodore Modin escaped Singapore in one of the other Fairmile launches.
Cheers

Hi guys
The above, who was AVM Pulford's right-hand man, did not escape from Singapore with his boss and was apparently captured at Muntok on Banka Island.
Can anyone clarify, please?
Cheers

This is not a vessel I have as yet researched but i can tell you that Modin escaped Singapore on Air Sea Rescue launch #105 - with Group Captain E. B. Rice; F/O A. N. Finlay; LAC S.C. Berkley ( his story is in the oral archives at the IWM) . This is from the Palembang POW camp register. Also I have found on the internet a page stating that Squadron Leaders Wilf Clouston and Frank Howell were on that launch.
Hi Michael
Many thanks indeed.
Most appreciated.
Cheers

Here's the info from "Unsung Heroes of the Royal Air Force, The Far East Prisoners of War" by ex-POW Les Stubbs and his wife Pam:
