The UK NA catalogue file title tells us that 16 BC was based in Sheffield and it took one of its heaviest raids on the night of December 12th 1940 hence the three men above.

The Sheffield Blitz is the name given to the worst nights of German Luftwaffe bombing in Sheffield, England, during the Second World War. It took place over the nights of 12 December and 15 December 1940.

Norton Aerodrome is the site of a former RAF balloon barrage station during WW2.
RAF Norton was n°16 Balloon Centre (Barrage Balloons). The centre comprised of three Squadrons: 939 (West Riding), 940 (West Riding) and 941 (West Riding). Each squadron had three flights comprising 8 balloons each. During the 2 world war some form of military detention centre was also on the site. In February 1939 the RAF established an office at 641 Attercliffe Road and began enlisting men who undertook initial barrage balloon training in a factory on Bridge street.

Fenrik Marinens Flyvevesen [Second Lieutenant Royal Norwegian Naval Air Service]. He died when the aircraft he was aboard (Marinens Flyvebaatfabrikk M.F.11) was shot down in error by the British during evacuation from Tromsø to Great Britain. His body was later washed ashore in the Shetlands bu those of the other occupants of the aircraft: Fenrik Knut Oscar, and quartermasters Odd Brænne and Harald Døsen do not appear to have been found.

He115, F-52, and MF11, F-328, headed for Scotland on 1st May. The He115, Lt Offerdal, reached Invergordon safely. F-328 was believed to have been shot down by British AA fire, the crew being killed.

No mention of any crew names.
