    Aircraftman 1st Class John Victor HANAGHAN - the ADM 104 Service Register on ancestry.co.uk records that he died on H.M.S. Furious after being struck by an aircraft taking off.

    Aircraftman 2nd Class Gordon MOORE (638683) - the Sunderland Echo of March 25th 1940 carried an announcement of his death:

    At Hemswell, on March 20 (the result of an accident) aged 20 years and 11 months. Gordon (Aircraftman), dearly-beloved twin son of the late Mr and Mrs E Moore, late of Brunton Terrace.

    Aircraftman 2nd Class David Henderson GOURLAY (977978) - a family tree on ancestry.co.uk records that he died at Gartloch Hospital. The Statutory Deaths Register on the Scotland's People website records that he died there at 10.10 p.m. due to 'acute confusional psychosis' and hypostatic pneumonia.

    Can you please look uk 42 year old George Barr who died in scotand in 1940 and see if he is George F Barr who died 17 Jan ?


    His death is registered at Coatbridge or Old Monkland

    I think he was with 1 Balloon trainjng unit And DoAS

    GPO has him 7 FTS

    He is listed as uMISSING, BELIEVED KILLED ON ACTIVE SERVICE but buried in Hull but can’t find him on FreeBmd in Scotland there is a 29 year old Alexander bell registered in Troon

    So are we looking for a 7 FTS aircraft missing on 1940-05-17 possibly over water ?
