One More Mystery that I wanted to clear up...

    29.11.39 Blenheim I L1452, 23 Sqn, Digby

    Crashed, Stockwith, near Gainsborough

Flt Lt Percy Don Walker (27) killed

    AC2 Benjamin France (19) killed

    LAC C Chrystall baled out

The 23 Sqn ORB has A C Francis of "229" (Unclear) Sqn Digby also killed in this accident!

I have seen Charles James FRANCIS (509032) maybe linked to this incident.. - But NOT see

Francis Charles J 41 Epping 4a 563 Scan available - click to view

However, the 229 Sqn ORB says 620302 AC2 France killed in 23 sqn Blenheim accident on this date -> AC2 Benjamin France

    Hi Paul

Checking my list again I realised I had this on Barwick: -

A member of 217 Sqn, he was killed whilst flying Tiger Moth II, N9327 of No 5 Coastal Patrol Flt, which made an emergency landing in the sea off Tenby in Pembrokeshire.

    PS

I see Tiger Moth II - N9327 - 1 EFTS - flew into ground near Welwyn Garden City, Herts
    24-10-1940

So obviously not badly damaged and repaired
