    Default Bogus or fake claims

    Gents
During my researchers and contacts with veterans, I have learned a few stories of pilots intentionally claiming victories that never happened. Some stories were likely a result of jealousy, but some other seem to be well substantiated. Some of the cases were identified during the war, some certainly did not.
The question is, have you came across such stories, and especially about any official paperwork related to such cases?
    TIA

    Hi Franek,

I have not seen any such a case why studying archives for our pilots.

An example is an exchange of letters of airmen concerning scores of No 452 Sqn, noting that there were no German fighters around. It is published in Andy Saunders' book on Bader's final mission.
