    Default P O Cartman RCAF J/93432

Can anyone help ewith info on the above?

He is listed on the CWGC site as died 30/12/44 and was a Wop/Agnr with 161 (RAF) Squadron.

The problem is .....161 Sqdn did not lose any a/c that night and I can find no trace of him (so far) in the ORB or Battle Orders.

    Ideas?

    TIA,
    Bob

    Bob,

Cartman's death at age 24 is registered at Paddington. There is a photograph of his gravestone here http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/remembers/sub.cfm?source=collections/virtualmem/photos&casualty=2762142

Very many thanks to you both for the quick replies.
According to some site there was a "massive raid" on London that night (29/30-12-44). It maybe that Cartman was caught in this whilst on his way to to join the squadron. I assume that the records would show him with 161 even though he never made it there.

    Again thanks,

    Bob
