    Hi Steve,

Sgt. Victor Tucker, from Jamaica, crashed in the Channel off Octeville-sur-Mer, 04-05-1942, North of Le Havre, shot down by Fw.190's. The Spitfires were escorting Bostons to Le Havre, and aborted the escort shortly before the bombing run. By order they flew a left turn, to which the pilots had protested, as this enabled the Germans to attack from the sun. Vic Tucker was one of several who went MIA this way, that area, that time, and in the months after that as well.

There is more to tell about the others too, but you are asking a lot in one go.

    Regards,

    Rob

    Gents,

Thanks for all your inputs. I'd looked through the CWGC site and TNA POW list, but as this shows there is always somebody out there with a little bit extra information.

    Regards

    Steve

    Steve,

PO Ormond RNZAF - 610 Sqn - 5/3/41 (also in Marks list but wrongly dated 5/2/41).

This was New Zealander Michael Cyril Wilder Ormond. He travelled to the UK for 'educational purposes' just prior to the war and enlisted in the RAFVR on 21 Nov 39 (as 907903). He was appointed to a commission on 25 Nov 40 (as 88465) and was still a serving member of the RAFVR when caputured. His transfer to an RNZAF commission did not take place until 1 Jun 44. He was 'safe' in the UK on 10 May 45.

T H Worth would appear to be on CWGC database, listed on Runnymede for that date.

There is an R C Bryson is listed on Ross's POW list on this site, is that the same man? a south Rhodesian.

Could the "D L Est" be Dennis Leslie West of 264 Squadron, found from:
