Hello Peter,
I must have them, I'll look later on today.
Alex
Can anyone help me to a copy or scan of the articles about the MVAF published in the Fly Past of October and November 1999? Help is appreciated.

Hi Peter
I have a copy the MVAF history compiled in 1944 (typewritten and poor quality).
Contact me briancullauthor@gmail.com if interested.

Hello Peter,
Found the copies. Will scan and try emailing later today.

This is a very interesting story. With the help of Brian (and his documents) I researched the story of a small number of Danish pilots in the MVAF for my book on Danes in Allied air forces. These are from the following files in Kew:
- CO 273/673/10, Malayan Volunteer Air Force: details of personnel and activities of no 1 Detached Flight up to 8 Mar 1942
- CO 825/37/1, Malayan Volunteer Air Force (MVAF): British Government's liabilities regarding discharge
As all documents were lost, the first file mentioned includes a written account and and an attempt to reconstruct an operational record etc. for the unit.

Thanks for sharing Mikkel. I have been trying to find out whether the MVAF did use any NEI aircraft but this proved to be not the case. Linking the data in the report from Brian with interview data of myself I did find out that administrative preparations were made to requisition a Piper Cub Coupé and a Tiger Moth (owned by the local flying club) at Palembang in case the need for replacement aircraft would arise. Both were not actually impressed or flown by A Flight MVAF, however.
