    He is definitely Harry M Simpson from Hartlepool - See news reports on PoW- The fact that he married fits as well - what is interesting is entry below Parents address in 1939 Register and Newsreports match as well

    I wonder if he was named after a distance relative... The Hartlepool reference is telling

    Father was George Ernest Simpson Born 1881 in Hartlepool

    his brother was Harry Mildred Simpson who died in 1890

    George Ernest Simpson mother was called Mildred Mildred(1844–1896)
    and he also had a Sister Mildred Simpson

    Mildred = Surnane

    I found him on the probate record of his mother Elizabeth Gertrude Simpson who died in 1966

    Ps my middle name is similar in that it is my mothers maiden name and it could be considered a female name if you heard me speak it though it is spelt differently
