    Dear Wayne,
Thank you very, very much for your post.
This was a great emotion for me to discovered all these informations about this crew.
See many visages of these heros is for me great emotion... I search them since near 15 years...
Are you of the family of one of them?
I don't know this web site (http://aircrewremembered.com). thank you to show it to me. Yet I searched Atkins and his crew dozens of times on the net... without succes and without see this web site! I will visit it now.
I read with interest the informations about the place where the plane fall. They speak that the plane fall in south of Lisieux. Yes Le Mans is in the south of Lisieux... But there is 150 km between the 2 towns! There is no reason for the germans to buried these heros in Le Mans if the plane fall at 150km of distance! When a plane fall... Two solutions, germans ask to buried the crew in the village where he fall or in the more important town more near the place. Why that? because germans tinked that buried in a big town was more difficult for french population to paye homage at these heros. For this reason and with my "experience"... I can say that this plane is not fall near Lisieux. But like all things... There is always one exception! Thank you very much!
