    Default CC ORB code clarification needed

    Hey all,

    I was wondering what these codes mean. I can figure out most codes and abbreviations in CC ORB's but these remain a mystery to me. From context I figure they're command elements, but I'd like to know the exact meaning. Thank you.

    Hi

    These codes are the reference numbers for the Form Orange that was submitted by the controlling RAF Station (which was not necessarily the station from which the operation was flown) for each operation flown. These usually provide a lot more detail than is contained in a typical ORB F541 exact times and locations, special equipment carried, encounters with other aircraft, attacks carried out etc.
    The reference numbers take the form of: Station/Serial of the particular Form Orange/Day/Month. Sometimes the Day/Month fields are consolidated into one field.
    Common station abbreviations:
    PNK = Predannack
    PTR = Portreath
    Sum = Sumburgh
    DM = Davidstow Moor
    NC = North Coates
    CH = Chivenor

    Hope this helps
    Niall
