From my previous research, it appears that Henk Welting indicated that Liberator EW312 was shot down by fighters, approximately 30km from Bergen However, I have been unable to find any evidence to substantiate the fate of this aircraft
Is anyone able to please assist me in confirming the cause of this aircraft failing to return to RAF Milltown? I am particularly interested in the second pilot, Flight Sergeant Edwin Borley, and would very much appreciate be able to close out my research with confidence.

    Many thanks,
    Mike

    Oughton's book only has 224 Sqn [ XB:D] 16.8.44; FTR from anti-submarine patrol 12.11.44

ORB has operation was between Shetlands and Norwegian coast.

D/224 failed to return from patrol. No indication was received off what may have happened to this aircraft.

    11.25, 11 Nov 1944/B Milltown on A/V Patrol, RO/G2/11 Nov, 18B/303, MII/04/11.
This aircraft was due back at 0010/12 Nov. But failed to return.
