    The Bedfordshire Times and Independent of June 13th 1947 reported the following:

    Bedford Man's Death in Flying Accident
    The Admiralty announced yesterday that Lieut. (A) William Herbert Lett, of 4, Becket Street, Bedford, was killed in Wednesday's collision between two Firefly aircraft. Searches were carried out in the Channel near Newquay, and one of the pilots was found. Further searches for Leiut. Lett failed.
