I have loaded a bunch of RCAF Serials in the DB so that the correct aircraft name appears in the results - this was not happening before..(need to do the same with Aus, NZ and SAAF numbers)
We are slowly inching towards 90% completion - just a couple of hundred records away! :)

POULTON was recorded AIR81/5054 Sergeant G W Poulton: killed; aircraft accident, Hurricane P3422, 232 Squadron, 8 February 1941. Note: Related file: 5017
The ORB at https://discovery.nationalarchives.g...mageViewerLink confirms on the very first para that POULTON and BURNET were flying Hurricanes on air combat practice and they collided in mid-air. both killed instantaneously. serial number of BURNETs Hurricane is illegible..
BURNET was also involved in an earlier crash AIR81/4778 Pilot Officer A W Burnet: injured; aircraft accident, Hurricane L1852, 55 Operational Training Unit, 22 January 1941.
