Default F/Lt JR Normandale 125158 POW

Hello. According to Bill Chorleys 1944 Losses, this airman was aboard a 419 Sq Lancaster that went down on May 1/2,1944. He is not included in the crew list in the ORB. Does anyone have any info that he was on this aircraft and what his trade maybe.
    Thanks Richard

The R.C.A.F service file of John Louis Edmond Chartrand contains three R.C.A.F. 'Questionaires for Returned Evaders, Escapers or Prisoners of War' from other R.C.A.F. members of the crew of Lancaster KB711.

They all confirm that five of the crew baled out:

    Sgt. A. G. Hill R.A.F.
    P/O R. C. D. Long R.C.A.F.
    P/O J. J. Wilson R.C.A.F.
    F/O F. H. Love R.C.A.F.
    Sgt D. S. M. Sangster R.C.A.F.

P/O McNary and P/O Chartrand were killed. One of the reports states that Chartrand was badly wounded, and that McNary probably went back to help him. Both were found dead by the aircraft.

No mention at all of F/Lt. Normandale in any of the questionaires.

    Regards

    Simon

"Footprints" also has him aboard KB711.

Jack Rotherford Normandale passed away in Toronto September 2007.

Interesting. Bill Chorley has him listed aboard that aircraft and Ross's POW list has him in there also. I wonder if he was along as a non flt/crew observing, as I do not know his trade. He is not shown as being posted in to 419 Sq. The 419 sq ORB is not the best. 6 pilots from 425 Sq went out as 2nd Dickies on Feb 15/16,1944 and they are not in the ORB either.
    Thanks Richard
