    AUSTRALIA.

    6237 LAC Bernard Roland THOMAS RAAF.

    6237 LAC Bernard Roland THOMAS RAAF (of No.482 [Maintenance] Squadron RAAF, Amberley, Queensland), was fatally injured when the car he was driving skidded in loose gravel and overturned on the Pacific Highway, Slack's Creek, Queensland. Killed outright were passengers, Veronica Knust and Eric Francis Bruce. A fourth person in the car, Winifred Murphy, sustained lacerations to her head and arms, but survived. Thomas died in the Brisbane General Hospital at 5.00 a.m., on 22 June, 1947.
