Default C.O. of No. 411 (Polish) Repair and Servicing Unit in 1944

    Hello
I'm looking for the name of the Squadron Leader who was the C.O. of No. 411 (Polish) R.&S.U. in 1944. Can't decipher the signature on the O.R.B. and I didn't spot his name clearly stated anywhere Inside. Some names of other members given, but not the C.O.

    Thanks in advance

    Joss

The first two pages of the ORB summarises the first 3 months of the Unit's existence at Northolt from Sept 43. In that it says 411RSU was formed around the Polish Section of 71MU. The CO of this section is given as S/Ldr Rafa? Dabrowski Tech/Eng. The typing of the last letter of his first name seems to have been altered and looks like it was altered to 'z'.

PS I have googled on "Rafaz" and it comes up as a Muslim name. I googled on "rafaz polish" and google asks "did you mean rafal".

    Hello

    Thanks to you both.
I've browsed again on my old copy of the RSU ORB spanning July 1944 to June 1945, and I spotted a single entry in December 1944 :
8.12.44 : [...] C.O. To Breda to recce the area near there for accomodation should the Unit move as anticipated in the next few days.
9.12.44 : [...] The C.O. having remained at Group over night - he was out on recce again over a wide area. [...]
11.12.44 : [...] S/L Dabrowski with C.O. of 131 Wing to Grimbergen Nr. Brussels on recce of B.60 Airfield.

Signature at the end of each month doesn't look like Dabrowski at all ! but ends with S/L as far as I decipher. So I gladly welcome your suggestion.

    Thanks again

    Joss
