P-51D-15, 44-15648 "DUCHESS ARLENE', of 301st FS, was flown by 1/Lt Robert W. Williams (and 1Lt Spurgeon Ellington). The aircraft is profiled in:

332nd Fighter Group - Tuskegee Airmen.
    Oxford:Osprey,2007 (Aviation Elites No.24)

The caption to colour profile 25. (p.76), reads:

    (p.126) 25.

P-51D-15 44-15648 DUCHESS ARLENE of 1Lt Robert W Williams, 301st FS, Ramitelli, Italy, March 1945.

Robert Williams downed two Fw 190s during his tenure with the 322nd, both during the fighter sweep of the Munich area on 30 March 1945 while flying "DUCHESS ARLENE", which had formerly been Spurgeon Ellington's "LOLLIPOP II". Williams, a native of Ottumwa, Iowa, renamed the Mustang in honour of his hometown sweetheart, Arlene Roberts. He flew 50 combat missions before returning to civilian life, where he became an actor, appearing on television with Phil Silvers and Dick Van Dyke, as well as in the film Pork Chop Hill with Gregory Peck. Williams later wrote the screenplay for the 1995 HBO film The Tuskegee Airmen, starring Laurence Fishburne, Guba Gooding Jnr and Andre Braugher.

Hi. That's amazing. I sincerely hope that this is the pilot after all of this work and research. Its a pity that I cant see the aircraft number but clearly the 10 is significant. I have huge admiration for you guys and your skill in finding out all of this detail. Thank you and if I can figure out how to post the photo then I will.
