    Hello

    UK
HEARLE, Nathaniel Martin - Lt/Cdr - RN - HMS Theseus.
SELLERS, Kenneth Alfred - Lt(A) - RN - HMS Theseus.
    [ Both were crew of Firefly FR.1 - PP589 ].

    [ Both were crew of Firefly FR.1 - TW6779 ( ex Z2059 ).
TIMMONS, Anthony Eli Augustus - OS - P/JX.790864 - RN - HMS Theseus.

Timmons death is recorded in ADM 104 as due to 'injuries sustained in aircraft accident.'

The incident involving the two Fireflies was reported in several newspapers at the time. The Staffordshire Sentinel of July 21st 1947 reported:

There was no further search to-day for the bodies on three fliers killed when two Fireflies from the carrier Theseus interlocked at 1,000 feet and crashed. The escorting destroyer Cockade picked up one body.

A sixth man was reported killed in the Coventry Evening Telegraph:

Air Mechanic Terence Sadler, of 106, Churchill Avenue, Coventry, a member of the crew of Glory, was one of eight [sic] Royal Navy men killed in a series of air crashes which yesterday marred a farewell demonstration by the carrier squadron visiting Australian ports. It is understood that Sadler died in hospital after being injured in the last of the three accidents, when a Spitfire landing on H.M.S. Glory, bounced over the deck stop-wires and crashed into a "parked" plane.

So, from the Sentinel report it doesn't seem like he was on one of the Fireflies?

    Regards

    Simon

    Thanks Jagan,
I have often though that the CWGC site had the "Indian" names the wrong way about, seems that this was one of them.
( CWGC usually have Surname in capital letters, followed by christian names ).

    Alex,

I noticed that CWGC decides to put the entire name in the Surname field when it comes to non-christian names from India or middle east. The firstname/lastname business in India can become real tricky based on geographical areas .
