No.1651 Conversion Unit

I am looking for some details about two airmen while at No.1651 Conversion Unit. After this assignment, Cyril V. FRENCH (151308) and Harry C. YARWOOD (145375) were sent to No.90 Sqdn (on 17 November 1943).

I have the 1651 ORB. It does record F/O C.V French & Crew posted to No.90 squadron on the 17th, there is no mention of Yarwood being posted on this date however.

This is all I could find for Oct / Nov 1943 for either pilot in the ORB.

What is surprising, its that nothing appears about Yarwood, as on the No.90 Sqdn ORB it is stated that he is coming from the 1651 CU. A question: Is there something in the ORB indicating where F/O French was before being assigned to the 1651 CU ? I don't know the date he entered the 1651 CU.

Dear Frederic,

I am sorry to say my copy of 1651 ORB does not record when the crew arrived, and on closer inspection I can confirm that there is no mention of Yarwood.

I have the appendix (WO 208/5583) of Yarwood's evasion report. E-mail me if you want a copy.

Could 1651 have been mixed up / badly typed instead of 1654 ? Just my two pence worth...

I also wondered if the missons which have been carried out by F/O French are given in the 1651 CU ORB. As those found in the Squadrons ORBs. The kind of details I would have been pleased to know.
