    Hello

    UK
BECKTON, John Anthony Harkness - Lt (A) - HMS Merlin - the Western Morning News of September 15th 1947 reported that he was reported missing after leaving Paignton for Lee-on-Solent on board the six ton yacht Silver Wings on August 16th. A search by British and French aircraft found no trace.
He is described as a Fleet Air Arm transport pilot and and ex-Battle of Britain pilot. He lost his right leg after a crash in the Battle of Britain.

    Regards

    Simon
