Default Location of 6317 SE of 131 Polish Wing 1944-1946

How can I track the location of 6317 SE of 131 Polish Wing between 24/4/44 and 25/6/1946.
My father was serving in this Echelon between those dates and I'd like to find out where he was, but his records do not state the places.

Thanks. I've seen that already. It does not help with places.

You need the book RAF Flying Training and Support Units Since 1912 by Ray Sturtivant and John Hamlin which provides the following:

    No 6317 (Polish) SE formed 22/3/44 Northolt; 1/4/44 Deanland; 26/4/44 Chailey; 28/6/44 Appledram; 16/7/44 Ford; 4/8/44 B.10 Plumetot; 6/9/44 B.31 Londoneres; 10/9/44 B.51 Lille/Vendeville; 11/10/44 B.61 St Denis Westrem; 13/1/45 B.60 Grimbergen; 9/3/45 B.77 Gilze-Rijen; by 10/4/45 B.85 Schundel for 340 Sqn Spitfires; 16/4/45 B.105 Drope; 5/7/45 B.58 Melsbroek; 8/7/45 B.152 Fassberg; 25/11/45 Friedrichshaven; 16/10/46 Hethel; disbanded 2/1/47

    Hello Steve

B.31 correct is Londinières, also known as Fresnoy-Folny. That's in the Seine-Maritime département. B.10 Plumetot is in Normandy, Calvados département, east of Bayeux, north of Caen. I was there on Saturday 8th and they unveiled a memorial for Polish forces on Sunday 9th June which can possibly be seen through a Google search.
B.51 Lille-Vendeville is the actual Lille airport, also known as Lille-Lesquin.

Well Joss it is not often anyone finds a Sturtivant error! Ray put the 'o' in and I left out the 'i'. Apologies to you and your countrymen!!

    Hello Steve

No harm done, but many mistakes in English books about French names (as probably about Polish and Czech names of people and places).

Correct spellings will help Arad to do some Google searches, etc...
