    Default Trade Change

I am currently researching a 35 Squadron crew where an experienced Flight Engineer appears to have changed trades and taken on the role of "2nd Air Bomber" (Set Operator) towards the end of 1944

The squadron ORB shows that he was not operational for a couple of months, suggesting that he was training during this period (but there are no mentions of postings out as he was not an officer) ...... has anyone come across this scenario with other airmen and, more importantly, does anyone know whether training would have "on station" or elsewhere

Your usual thoughts would be much appreciated

    Regards

    Pete

Please note that I have not got his service record at this point in time [which I know will answer the question]
