    Default 192 Squadron, 100 Group

    Afternoon folks

I'm trying to do a little research into the wartime career of my late, great Uncle who flew initially in Wellington Mk X and then with Halifax Mk III with 192 Squadron as a tail gunner.

Any info anyone can provide, specifically around the crew of A-Able, HZ 415 would be greatly appreciated. My great uncle was Reg Atterbury. I believe his pilot was F/O D. Worrad with P/O P. Everard as navigator

    Best regards

    Andy

    Andy welcome aboard!
I would recommend you to start with the search tool of this forum:

    http://www.rafcommands.com/database/air27/

There you can found ORBs fro 192 Sq and search the previews for the names you have stated. When found you can easily buy the full PDF online from TNA.

Here's a little more guidelines to using them for free online, before you decide to buy if you wish

Hello Atters247, Welcome to the Forum
Are we talking about 3040988 Reginald William Atterbury?
    b. Q1 1923 (MMS Foster) Reg Barnsley 9c 512.
3040988 is in the Block 3040001-3044830 Cadets ATC Issued Doncaster from 01-May-43
(Our expert on ATC Cadet matters on the forum is Malcolm Barrass on https://rafweb.org/index.html). He would have been 20 when he Enlisted.
    He m. Q1 1953 Jean Tranter Reg Wortley 2d 1641
You need to get his Service Record at https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-service-records.
I haven’t found his crew-mates you state. Have a look at the ORB for proper inits/surname, and then you can look in the London Gazette, and the usual BMD sites, for their details.
    Good luck
