    Steve,
Looks like might be minor problem? Malcolm’s excellent RAFWEB has No 4 Armament Training Station at W Freugh only from 1 Apr 38 - 17 Apr 39. Yrs/his dates don’t fit!

The Armament Training airfields changed their names over their lifetime. West Feugh (Luce Bay Ranges) opened in 1937 - January I believe, as an Armament Training Camp. In 1938 all the ATC's were renamed Armament Training Station Station, hence the 1938 date.

The original Armament Training Camp description was used from 1932 to 1938 and if they were open prior to that, like Sutton Bridge (Holbeach ranges), they were called by the station name. The Armament Training Station names was dropped in 1939 when war broke out and they were re-designated as BGS, AOS or just gunnery flights. Many entries in ORBs refer to going to practice camps but these did not appear under that name until 1943 or 1941 if it was within Coastal Command. The war period is confusing and I am still trying to sort it out!
