Their deaths were reported in the newspapers at the time. Hunt's address is recorded as being High Croft Terrace, Bebington, Cheshire, and Thomas is recorded as being from Arthog, North Wales.

Assuming their bodies were returned to their homes for burial, it might be a lead...

Eric Arthur Hunt never had one. There are a lot of ‘Joseph Thomas’ in TNA AIR 78/156 starting at Image 1772. He’s got to be one of the early ones? Good luck!

According to the Coventry Evening Telegraph of November 27th 1937 Thomas' body was recovered some nine hours later among the rocks at low tide the next morning, a short distance from the plane crashed. Hunt's body was recovered several minutes after the crash. The aircraft itself was towed into Workington Dock by herring fishermen.

The Lieverpool Echo of November 29th reported that Hunt, aged 21, was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Hunt, of Highcroft Avenue, Lower Bebington. He was educated at Birkenhead School, and worked for Lever Brothers at Port Sunlight in the works laboratory depaertment before joing the R.A.F. in 1936. The article reports that he tried in vain to save the life of Thomas, who was a non-swimmer.

    Gents,

Thank you. I had managed to obtain a number of news paper reports on the tragic death of both young airman, but none mention burials.

Also, not been able to find a service number for Hunt, any ideas.

    TIA
