    Third hypothesis:

the Beaufighters of the 47th Squadron were already on patrol and were warned by USAF bombers that sighted the convoy about 45 minutes before.
    Could it happened?

    Franco,

You may be coming up empty as you have the squadron listed as "47th". This was American nomenclature. RAF and Commonwealth would be No. 47 Squadron

Try "No. 47 squadron beaufighter" in google and you may get lucky.

    Regards,

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

unfortunatly via Google search, editing "No. 47 squadron beaufighter" or "RAF No. 47 squadron beaufighter", I don't get any right picture reference.
There are a lot of beaufighter images but referred to other Squadrons, not to RAF 47 Sqn.

    That's why my kindly request...

    Thanks
    Franco
