Hi Richard, they can be found (sometimes) in the schools ORBs which are available online but they are of poor black & white quality = unusable.
But maybe some of our Canadian colleagues would be able to say more or if it is possible to study the original records.

By coincidence, yesterday I posted a piece on my blog about Air Gunners Course No. 30 at No. 5 Bombing and Gunnery School in Dafoe, Saskatchewan along with a picture of the participants. See https://dambustersblog.com/2019/08/3...w-photographs/
This would suggest that it was the practice on this course at least for a group photograph to be taken and then given to the participants.

    Hi Richard,

I have a photo of the Aussies on Course 58, 4 SFTS taken at the start of their pilots course (28 Aussies) in June 1942, I found a photo of the graduating class of Course 58 (54 pilots) taken on the 9 October 1942 in Saskatoon Library, it cost me $25.00 Cad. Try there.

    Cheers,

    John.

Thanks for the info. Off to Ottawa on the 18th. Will look at some of the ORB's.

    Hi Richard,

I've got the 31 B&GS ORB for the period my Grandad was there (september to december 1943) and there's no course photos in it for that period.

    All the best,
