    Default Battle K & L series

    Hi,

Can anyone help with this. In July 1939, 218(B) Squadron received 11 factory fresh L Series Battles to equip the new 'C' Flight. These aircraft were flown by the squadron up until August 31st 1939. HOWEVER not one of the 11 were flown to France on September 2nd 1939? In fact no L series Battles were flown by the squadron until March 1940. The Squadron, Station, Group ORB's do not give a reason why the L series batch was withdrawn. Any suggestion ?

    TIA

    Steve

Hi Steve, if those in question were L5193 to L5203 the Air Britain RAF Aircraft L1000-N9999 suggests they were transferred to the RCAF (10 of those 11) but only in 1940-1941. So I am afraid it would be not the right reason which you are looking for...
