    Thanks Paul

Are you saying he is THE W/O Poplar involved in this or the W F Poplar identified by Peter from the Air 78

    Chris

I just provided his full details he left RAF in 1938 and was in Class E and unless he re-joined RAF in WW2 with a new number I don't see how it could be him ?

BTW If anyone has an Ancestry account there are some documents/info on

    Edward Charles Poplar

    Birth
    26 Jan 1918
    Death May 1992

After this topic originally went dormant I did find Stave as Capt Nator Ludvig Benjamin STAVE who served in the Norwegian Merchant Navy throughout the war and Cattell who died in on the right day in Singapore but nothing further. There were a Zalmanoff family who were Russian Jews that settled in Shanghai but I couldn't find out any more than that. Goodness only knows how this diverse group of civilians got themselves onto an RAF flight!
