    Default LAC Raymond Gumley (926961)

I know he has been briefly mentioned on this forum before but does anybody have any info about this gentlemans RAF service.
Somebody is asking about him on pprune - we are assuming he may have been a U/T pilot/aircrew because he is in the Aircrew Remembered website.
I think he may have been classified as 'Died on Active Service' (but not 100% sure).

He is buried in Cambridge City Cemetery

Registered Cambridge. He's recorded as "Gumeey, Raymond" on the Civil Registration Deaths Index April-May-June 1943.

I know its just me getting old and grumpy but these men are nearly always on an unaccounted thread, and it would save some repetition of work to post on those old threads

    http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/sho...rmen-30-4-1943

    Registration district is mentioned there.

I checked the DOAS names manually just now to Sep 9th 1943, and his names not in the DOAS's.
Can't see anything jumping out on https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk

You can get a copy of the burial register on https://deceasedonline.com/servlet/GSDOSearch
It MIGHT give a cause of death or some clues

Thanks for the replies gents - I am sorry if my post was unclear but the question was to find out what RAF 'Trade' Raymond Gumley was - he is an LAC on the Aircrew Remembered website,by 1943 all qualified aircrew were Sgt and above.
I am assuming that he may have been a U/T Pilot or Aircrew and wondered if anybody on here had any ideas.

I also assumed that DOAS means he was not killed whilst on duty (rightly or wrongly).

His wife was very unlucky during the war - to quote Madcat11 on pprune

She was previously married to Peter B F Pryke (Pilot) who was killed in Wellington accident at RAF Bassingbourn in 1940. They had only been married a few months. She the married Raymond and, again, was only married a few months before he died.
