    This aircraft sits below the high ground on the south shore , she crashed on a night training flight.
    The pilot overhsot and on going around his port wingtip touched the water and she crashed.

    This thread will produce most of the answers sought.

    The aircraft is still there , too deep to lift at the time she was left in situ.

    In the Commonwealth plot in Irvinestown Church of Ireland there are two unknown aircrew buried , one and officer the other and NCO - apart from the airmen lost on this flight and the 240 Catalina which are both still in the Lough there were a number of other men not recovered.
    I have often wondered on who the poor lads are , I have at sometime read their names .
