Default Air Britain - J J Halley - Passed Away?

I am told that Author J J Halley had passed away some time back - and I havent heard a word or had an inkling of it happening . Do forum members know better?

I mention this as Bill Chorley wrote on twitter about him being no more but was not sure about it.. And now on ebay a couple of photographs turned up from his archive and the seller had confirmed he got the archive in an auction..

If true - its sad news that his passing away went relatively unnoticed.

I have over the years got the complete serial registers and treasure the set. He was also kind enough to give me permission to quote the information from J and K serials about the Westland Wapiti for my own book. that was nearly five years ago..

    Jagan,

The death of James J. Halley MBE, on 22 May, 2018, was announced in Air-Britain's Aviation World of Autumn, 2018. Jim was a founder member of Air-Britain.

What a debt we owe this gentleman.

What a sad new, I have also not noticed this.
I remember when I picked up a big postbag full of his RAF Serials book at our post office a long time ago and those were one of my first English books about the RAF - and they have still the honorary place in my book shelf as I am using them nearly everyday!

Col, you cannot be so right! I subscribed to Aeromilitaria thanks to him...it was back in 1995. His registers are still the basis of every of my researches today.
