    Default WAAF Service Recrds

Can anyone advise on whether the WAAF service records are held alongside the airmen records, or held at a different location

I have tried to contact the Records Office via their answerphone service, but sadly, they have not returned my call

    Regards

    Pete

    Pete,
Try Disclosures at RAF Cranwell. IIRC we got our WAAF SRs in exactly the same way you can get the Male SRs (Lyffe may confirm if he's on the cct?).

    Hi Pete

I have acquired at least two WAAF records from Cranwell in the normal way.

Thanks, as always, for your feedback.

The Records Office have responded to my second answerphone message by confirming that the WAAF records are held alongside the airmen records, so I have now advised my original enquirer on the procedure that he needs to follow to obtain his mother's record

    Regards

Hello Pete, they were about 10 year's ago, when my now late father obtained both his and my late mother's service records.

They actually phoned him asking him to confirm his service number, stating that it was for an officer, but they were incorrect as not only was it issued to him in February 1939, but his, and my mother's numbers fitted in the service number table's published on this forum!

However, they accepted my mother's number, issued 7 September 1939, without question!

    Good luck in your quest
