    Default Martinet force-landing, 4 A.G.S., August 16th 1944 nr. Morpeth

    Hello everyone

In the R.A.F. Morpeth O.R.B. (Air 29/590) is the following entry:

'16.8.44 MARTINET force landed 1 mile east of MORPETH on North side of river. Crew: F/Sgt THOMAS, LAC WARNER. F/Sgt THOMAS admitted to S.S.Q. with pneumanitis [sic].'

No mention of a serial though. A long shot but can anyone possibly ID this Martinet?

    Regards

    Simon

    EDIT - possibly 1337130 Thomas.

    Hello Tim

My ID for the code for HP253 came from an article about R.A.F. Morpeth in Air North Magazine from a few years back. It has several serials (some with codes) for 4 A.G.S. Bothas, Lysanders, Martinets and Ansons plus a few odds and ends including the two Masters and a Moth Minor.

Drop me a PM and I can send you a copy.

    Regards

    Simon
